The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology has approved 31 new projects worth ₹7,877 crore under the Electronics Component Manufacturing Scheme (ECMS), marking another major step in strengthening India’s domestic electronics ecosystem.
The approved projects span a diverse range of critical components and manufacturing segments, including camera and display modules, connectors, capacitors, coils, optical transceivers, rare-earth permanent magnets, anode materials and other supply-chain products.
The latest approvals are expected to generate around ₹82,243 crore in production and create 9,588 direct employment opportunities, while helping deepen domestic value addition and reduce dependence on imported components.
With the latest round, the total number of approved ECMS applications has reached 106 across 15 states, involving a cumulative investment of ₹69,548 crore. The move reinforces India’s ambition to build a more resilient electronics supply chain and emerge as a globally competitive manufacturing hub.
